Who We Are

We Are Followers of Christ

This comes first. We are people who have come to know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that He died for our sins. We are people who have placed their faith in Him, and repented of their sin. We are those who follow Christ above every thing, power, authority, and name. This means we are also people on mission. We believe that to follow Christ, means that we must also go out into the world, and continue the mission that Christ began so many years ago. We are here to follow and worship God.

We Are a Community

As followers of Christ, we are united together in His body; and His body is the church. Each church has their own unique characteristics, ours is in the name, “First Korean Baptist Church of Louisville.” In the U.S., many Korean Churches have what is called an “English Ministry.” This is because the longer a Korean Church exists in one place, the more English speakers will gather in that body. Our English Ministry was born out this exact situation. Today, our English speaking congregation is broadly diverse in culture, age, and ethnicity. We strive to make the English Ministry a place where your cultural background really doesn’t matter. We welcome all to come and worship our incredible God.

We Are Biblical

We believe that God has revealed Himself to His people through the Bible, and that this Bible has been faithfully handed down to His church today. For this reason, we try as much as possible to make all our decisions with Scripture as our guide. Our beliefs, practices, convictions, and teachings, are built upon the foundation set out in God’s Word.

Our Beliefs

We are an SBC church and our beliefs are consistent with the Baptist Faith and Message.
